Where do i start to plan a trip

How can I start to plan my vacation-adventure?

First of all it is important to understand whether you have chosen the right time to go to that particular destination. Each country has the right or wrong time of the year for a visit, while others can be visited at any time of the year, without any danger of finding bad storms, tornadoes or typhoons!

Where do I start?

Whether it is a do it yourself trip or a trip you have organized with a travel agency, the first thing to be established is the itinerary. If you have decided to go to a destination without any transfers it is much easier, but if you have decided to make a few stops by changing flights, taking a coach or renting a car, then you must plan your trip down to the last detail!!
After you have done this, the first step is getting the airline tickets! We purchase them well in advance, even up to 11 months before our departure date, but excellent bargains can be found with “Last Minute” tickets.

How can I choose a good flight with more than one stop?

I always advise to reserve your flights with the same airline and therefore have the possibility, at each stop, to not have to pick up your bags and then have to check them in again for the next flight! It’s a waste of time and you can’t relax.

Unexpected incidents before your departure?

When you make the reservation, always purchase insurance with Allianz (Globe Assistance), which allows you to be reimbursed 90% of the total cost of your trip, for the following reasons:
- illness, hospitalization, death
- your vacation time has been revoked, professional reasons
- your dog or cat gets ill
- damage to your home
Whether the above involves the person travelling, relatives (whether travelling or not), a travel companion, a partner in your company or the cat/dog owned by the insured.

Do you want to change a reservation?

Changing a reservation has a cost that can vary according to the airline company or the travel agency! Penalties are applied that are provided and established by the airline company. If the airline tickets have already been issued, a tax will be applied. Changing or cancelling a reservation, whether it is a flight or an accommodation, has a cost in 90% of the cases that varies according to the tour operator, search engine or travel agency.

Is hand luggage always included?

Some low cost airlines only allow one piece of hand luggage without the possibility of bringing an extra purse or backpack, only ONE PIECE OF HAND LUGGAGE per person!
The majority of the low cost airline companies allow a trolley or backpack with a purse.
I suggest that you check directly on the various airlines’ website for details on weight, dimension and contents allowed!

BEFORE YOU LEAVE

Before leaving your home, ALWAYS make some photocopies. If you are travelling abroad, make two photocopies of your passport. Use a smart phone to take a picture of your car parked in the airport’s garage and do the same with your suitcase and its contents, in case anything is lost.

  • Bring a mask to sleep and earplugs. These could come in handy on the plane, on a train or in your hotel room.
  • Put a change of clothes in your hand luggage in case the suitcase you have checked in should get lost.
  • You could also bring some slipper socks, a pashmina and an anatomic pillow to use during your flight!

If you leave with someone…

Share the space. Are you travelling as a couple? Divide your clothes in both suitcases in the improbable case that one of the suitcases should get lost during the flight.

What if I forget something like slippers, toothpaste, toothbrush or soap?

Ask at reception in the hotel you are staying to give you these, they always have some for their clients!

Do not forget an extension cord with multi-sockets; it is always useful to have an extra socket to recharge all your electronic devices at the same time!
